From the artist: “In 2020 I began documenting the moon and it’s phases. What started as a way to count the months since the passing of my father, soon became a monthly ritual with myself at nighttime. Alone in the desert at night is a special feeling. I document the moon as if it were an old friend. Spending time with it here and there, learning more about it and, inadvertently, myself along the way.”

20 x 16 inches, semi-gloss cotton rag paper. Float framed flush with acrylic glazing. Hand-made framing recommended in White (pictured).
Each print and frame is made by hand to order. Kindly anticipate a production time of 1-2 weeks for unsigned prints, 3-4 weeks for signed prints, and 4-6 weeks for framed prints.

The artist
Andrea Koesters (Kentucky, 1994) is an interdisciplinary artist, photographer and designer. She worked as a film lab manager for many years where she became well-versed in analog photography methods, chemistry and printing. Now based in southern Arizona, Andrea lives on an artist ranch in the rural Southwest where themes of wild expanses, fauna and nightscapes continue to inform her work.
